"Inform vendors about when to ship items"
In 2023 Release wave 2 for Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain Management we have a very useful future in area Procurement, named “Inform vendors about when to ship items”.

In case you are dealing with vendors who do not have defined specific delivery terms, such as delivery duty paid, delivery at place, or delivery at place unloaded, you will need to inform them of the shipment schedule. This functionality includes the new Requested ship date and Confirmed ship date fields in purchase orders line details, which incorporation enhances the purchasing process.

In Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management, purchase orders currently incorporate a delivery date, indicating when the order is expected to arrive at your company's premises. This enhancement introduces a ship date, which specifies when the vendor is expected to dispatch the goods from their location.
The system determines the ship date based on the recently configured transportation days, allowing you to specify the number of days required for shipping items from a vendor's location to your own. When master planning recommends a date for initiating a planned order, it will take into account the configured transportation days to ensure timely delivery of the goods to your location.

You also have the option to establish a vendor ship calendar to specify the days when a vendor is capable of shipping. In cases where certain items require expedited handling and a vendor makes an exception to their vendor ship calendar, you can accommodate this by modifying or excluding the vendor ship calendar for the pertinent purchase order lines.
