How Do the Output Formats Work?
In Dynamics 365 Finance, there are two standard output methods:
- Electronic Reporting (ER) → generates XML / XRechnung
(machine-readable, no PDF) SSRS Reporting → generates PDF
(human-readable, but without XML)
These standard formats do not meet ZUGFeRD requirements, as Microsoft does not provide native support for combining PDF + XML.

Which ZUGFeRD version is supported?
The add-on supports ZUGFeRD 2.x (including version 2.4), which is fully compatible with Factur-X 1.08.x , the French equivalent of the same standard.
Are both sales invoices and free text invoices supported?
Yes. Both document types are supported and can be configured independently, either per customer or globally per legal entity.
What XML format is embedded in the PDF?
